Como cada año, y tras anunciarse los nominados, la Gamescom ha hecho público los títulos más interesantes del festival en función de cada temática. Como títulos a resaltar, Star Wars: Battlefront ha sido revelado como el mejor título de la Gamescom. PES 2016, por parte del deporte, ha sido considerado como el más destacado de su temática, o Forza Motorsport 6 como mejor juego de carreras.
